Surgery journey
Safe general preparation before surgery, followed by structured guidance if symptoms occur afterwards. Procedure-specific instructions come from your surgeon, anaesthesia team and hospital.
Before surgery
Confirm the plan
Confirm the procedure name, hospital, date and time with your clinical team.
Medicines
Prepare your medication and allergy list. Do not stop blood thinners or other medicines based on the app; follow surgeon and anaesthesia instructions.
Fasting
Follow fasting instructions given by the hospital/anaesthesia team; requirements vary by procedure and patient.
Reports
Bring relevant prior operation notes, endoscopy, imaging and test reports.
Going home
Arrange an escort or transport if requested and know who to contact if a problem occurs.
After surgery
If you develop fever, bleeding, worsening pain, difficulty urinating, vomiting or a wound problem, use the postoperative pathway to screen urgency. Severe symptoms should not wait for the app.
Procedure-specific recovery journeys
Open the specific journey for haemorrhoidectomy, fistula surgery, LIFT, seton or fissure surgery.
